The news comes from tech news website CNET, who reported at peak, Instagram users uploaded 40 hours of video per minute.
The busiest moments for the app happened on Thursday night when the Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA Finals, according to an Instagram spokesperson.
As we reported last week Instagram has taken on rival app Vine, adding the ability to take 15 second videos, compared to Vine's 6 second limit.
The app also allows users to delete individual snippets to re-record, and there's also the ability to switch between the front and rear cameras.
The update is available for iOS and Android right now, for free.
