Accellion Mobile Apps for iOS, Android and BlackBerry are intended to allow users to access and enterprise content from mobile devices.

Where the previous update focussed on security, the latest developments are more about functionality.

Top of the list is application whitelisting, which provide administrators with control over the external editors and viewers users can select to open files.

Secure workspaces give users the ability to collect together related file attachments to streamline their workflow.

Single sign-on support has been broadened to include Kerberos as well as SAML and OAuth.

The iOS version of the apps has been updated to support iOS 6 and iPhone 5.

Microsoft Office support has been expanded with the addition of plugins for Outlook (send files up to 2GB in size via the Accellion software, avoiding any lower limit set on the mail server, with centralised control over access permissions and file expiration dates) and Lync (to securely share files within instant messaging, VoIP, video conferencing, or desktop sharing, with tracking for compliance auditing).
