3D revamped Rayman rated

By

Fans of Ubisoft's limbless hero Rayman will pleased to know that he is indeed headed to Nintendo's upcoming 3DS portable system this year, as confirmed by America's rating board.

Despite the confirmation, question marks remain as to whether the title will be part of the popular 'Raving Rabids' series of spinoff games or a fully-fledged 3D Rayman game.

The game, titled Rayman 3D, has been given an 'E' rating in the United States, meaning that it's "suitable for everybody" and therefore unlikely to be any kind of new version aimed at adults.

Although little is known about the game, Rayman 3D should nevertheless help Nintendo to build hype for its new system, especially with children, who seem to be a large part of the company's targeted demographic.

The Nintendo 3DS, due for release locally in March 2011, can produce "3D effects without the need for any special glasses" via a process called autostereoscopy. Local pricing is yet to be released.
