US-based satellite company Iridium has successfully launched a payload of 10 satellites into low-Earth orbit an hour after a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

On September 6, 2008, a two-ton Earth-imaging satellite called GeoEye-1 was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California (U.S.A.) for a polar orbit about 423 miles above the surface of the Earth. Google has secured exclusive online mapping rights.

The news media is reporting that unnamed officials within the federal government are stating that a disabled U.S. spy satellite is expected to fall to Earth sometime between late February and early March. Could it be satellite USA 193 (NROL-21)?
