Chill out two ways with Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N700

By
Logitech's Speaker Lapdesk N700 solves two laptop problems in one swoop.

What are two of the main problems associated with using a notebook or netbook on your lap?

Getting a crick in your neck is probably one of the biggest, but you can't do a lot about that without moving the machine off your lap.

Hardware that gets too hot for comfort is a common complaint, and there are several pieces of kit around that help cool the computer and/or keep the heat away from your thighs - and adjacent regions!

And laptops are being increasingly used for entertainment, whether that's at home, at work, or when travelling. While the screen is generally more than adequate for a single viewer sitting right in front, sound quality often falls short of what we would like, and earphones aren't always desirable.

So Logitech has combined the two functions in the Speaker Lapdesk N700: a padded tray with a fan to keep your lap and computer cool, and a pair of "high-definition" speakers for "rich sound and powerful bass."

A single USB cable provides power and audio signals.

"More and more people around the world are enjoying fantastic entertainment on their laptops '” but with mediocre sound and comfort," said Denis Pavillard, Logitech's vice president of product marketing for laptop accessories.

"In fact, according to our research nearly 50% of laptop users report being dissatisfied with the sound quality of the built-in speakers. The Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N700 helps transform your laptop into a private theatre in the cozy confines of your lap," he added.

The $149.95 Speaker Lapdesk N700 will be available in Australia exclusively from Officeworks from late March.
