New Zealand property investment firm, Stride Property, has deployed a retail Wi-Fi solution from global networking equipment company Aerohive Networks, in the NorthWest Shopping Centre in Auckland.

Stride Property has worked directly with Intellium Technology, an Auckland-based full-service IT support and communications provider, deploying Aerohive’s managed Wi-Fi to the North West Shopping Centre located in the new Westgate Town Centre.

NorthWest is the flagship of the Westgate Town Centre, the largest transformation project in the country and recognised as a next-generation shopping destination.

Stride Property senior marketing manager, Linh Luong, says by taking advantage of Aerohive’s full suite of retail solutions to bridge the online and physical shopping experience, NorthWest Shopping Centre now offers public Wi-Fi access for shoppers, meeting customer expectations, as well as providing insight to retailers for how shoppers spend their time and other valuable customer behaviour that will create future engagement opportunities.

“We were looking to provide point of differentiation by deploying state of the art technology to deliver unrivalled facilities to retailers and an enhanced shopping experience for customers in store,” Luong says.

“Through data analytics, we were able to capture data on how shoppers spend their time and where they visit. We learned from the reports that 52% of our shoppers are visiting us for the first time, which reveals we still have room for marketing growth.”

Intellium sales director, Mark Taylor, says the company and Aerohive both have a track record of delivering projects “that meet the highest expectations of the customer”.

“The retail data insights offered from Aerohive reflect the extra value we are able to offer to customers. This insight into consumer behaviour and business intelligence from Aerohive is one of the reasons wireless networking is now our fastest growing product suite at Intellium.”

Data encryption methods previously used only by military and intelligence services have become common practice in all data transfer networks across all platforms, in all industries where information is sensitive and vital (financial and government institutions, critical infrastructure, data centres, and service providers).
