The terrorists have won

By

The tale you are about to read will (I hope) make you sick to your stomach. Reading this tale will make it abundantly clear that reason and good will have left the building.  Permamently.

For no other reason than for having darkish skin, and 'accidentally' being placed in the same row as a couple of Indian men, Shoshana Hebshi was dragged from an aircraft (at its destination, when there was no useful fuel load!) by the FBI, DHS and local police and subjected to many hours of isolation, questioning and a strip search.  For no good reason other than the fact that some other passenger felt nervous about the three of them.

Has the USA finally gone stark raving mad?  Don't answer that!

Since when does an overly nervous paranoid reaction justify spending thousands of dollars on isolating an aircraft, surrounding it with police cars and interrogating three clearly unrelated and innocent passengers.

The "see something, say something" campaign has a LOT to answer for.  Unfortunately, the incident reporter will be hailed a 'hero' for speaking up when what they really need is to endure the EXACT same treatment as was meted out to their victims.

Please, read Shoshana Hebshi's account of her really bad day.

And for an alternate view of how the past decade might have progressed, The Onion has some really good news.
