Leaders Quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management

By Rachael Williams

Sitecore, the leading provider of .NET Web Content Management System (CMS) software, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned Sitecore in the Leaders Quadrant of its recent 2010 report, 'Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management.'1 According to Gartner, the market for Web content management 'continues to be vibrant' and is 'likely exceed $1 billion in 2010.'

The report evaluated numerous Web Content Management (WCM) vendors based on a rigorous set of criteria that included customer experience, innovation, market understanding, marketing and sales strategy, product strategy and business model.

The report noted, 'Leaders should drive market transformation. Leaders have the highest combined scores for ability to execute and completeness of vision. They are doing well and are prepared for the future with a clear vision. They have strong channel partners, a presence in multiple regions, consistent financial performance, broad platform support and good customer support. In addition, they dominate in one or more technologies or vertical markets,' and are 'aware of the ecosystem into which their own offerings need to fit.' Gartner added that leaders can demonstrate enterprise deployments; offer integration with other business applications and content repositories; and provide a vertical-process or horizontal-solution focus.

As an industry leader in WCM applications designed for the .NET environment, Sitecore CMS delivers a compelling and economical solution for capturing, organising, storing, and producing Web-based content. Sitecore is based on a flexible enterprise architecture that is readily adaptable to many business situations, and provides customers the scalability, performance, flexibility, and integration capabilities they need to manage multiple websites and seamlessly deliver compelling Web experiences.

'Sitecore is committed to delivering the leading technology and knowledge customers need to maximise the power of their content, deliver compelling Web experiences and drive better business results,' said Michael Seifert, CEO, Sitecore. 'Our leadership and vision in core areas such as mobility and interface usability, combined with our .NET foundation and interoperability with adjacent technologies, such as Microsoft SharePoint and CRM systems, continues to set us apart in the market. We believe being acknowledged by Gartner as a leader in Web content management is a testament to our continued commitment to product excellence and the substantial value we deliver our customers.'
