GN Netcom accelerates ASEAN Growth Strategy; signs up Westcon in new Regional Distribution Partnership; opens new office in Thailand

GN Netcom has appointed Westcon as distributor for the ASEAN markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The agreement, scaling into ASEAN a successful partnership in Australia between GN Netcom and Westcon, will see Westcon distribute the entire suite of Jabra UC-optimised headsets to meet rising enterprise market demand for Unified Communications (UC) solutions that include voice communications and collaboration. GN Netcom also announced a new Thailand office opening to serve growth in Thailand and Vietnam markets. The ASEAN partnership comes hot on the heels of GN Netcom's distribution agreement with Redington, leading IT distribution player for its India expansion.

Westcon Group to market Jabra portfolio of UC-optimised voice communication and collaboration products to enterprise and office customers

ASEAN, April 30, 2010 -- GN Netcom, a world leader in innovative hands-free communications solutions, has appointed Westcon as distributor for the ASEAN markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Under the agreement, Westcon will distribute the entire suite of Jabra UC-optimised headsets through its strong reseller base to address rising enterprise market demand for Unified Communications (UC) solutions that include voice communications and collaboration.

The agreement with Westcon, a leading specialty distributor with particular expertise in the convergence of voice, data and video applications and technologies, is a major step in accelerating GN Netcom's ASEAN growth strategy to expand sales channels for the UC environments. Westcon serves segments of the regional Enterprise market: large enterprises, the mid market including call centres, as well as the SMB office and mobility markets.

The ASEAN Opportunity in 2010

Ralph Ede, GN Netcom noted, 'Industry watchers and experts assess the Asean UC opportunity to be almost as huge as India. Likewise, we see good reason to be bullish about Asean prospects particularly as GN Netcom grew by a striking 30% in India last year. Individual markets in Asean may be adopting UC platforms at different rates, but what's certain is that with the economic upturn organizations are seriously reviewing workplace strategies for breakthrough improvements in business communications, efficiency and competitiveness. GN Netcom is committing greater resources to hasten market penetration in key verticals, especially banking institutions, which are turning to UC solutions to achieve this.'

Strengthens ASEAN Presence with New Office in Bangkok

GN Netcom recently opened a new office in Bangkok, Thailand to serve the markets of Thailand and Vietnam where demand for Jabra enterprise and contact centre products grew sharply last year. According to Ralph Ede, 'We experienced a doubling of our customer base. A major driver has been the adoption of voice communications and collaboration solutions by larger enterprises to address rising expectations of customers, as well as improve business competitiveness.'

In key contact centre markets including Malaysia and Philippines, the focus is to strengthen key partnerships. In fast-paced commercial centres with advanced triple-play services such as Singapore, where voice telephony, wireless mobile, high-speed internet access have become fairly common applications, GN Netcom's focus is on accelerating the roll-out of Jabra premium UC-offerings to enterprise and office market segments.

Expands Channel Partnership in India

In March 2010, GN Netcom significantly enhancing its focus on India where the company announced the appointment of Redington, a leading IT distribution player in the Indian, Middle-East and African regions with over 16,000 channel partners. The company also disclosed plans to open two new offices in the Indian market where it grew 30% in 2009 and projects a 50% y-o-y growth for 2010.
