CIBER Inks Deal With Sybase to Offer Mobility Solutions and Enterprise Apps in Australia and New Zealand

By Sybase

Australia has the second highest per capita smartphone usage worldwide, according to a study recently conducted by IPSOS Research. Now CIBER will be expanding the enterprise mobility solutions it brings the Australian and New Zealand markets through a newly-signed partnership with Sybase, Inc., an SAP company and industry leader in enterprise and mobile software.

The partnership encompasses Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP), which allows developers to create and manage multiple mobile applications that securely connect to a variety of back-end data sources from all major wireless device types. The agreement also covers Afaria, a powerful and flexible mobile device management and security solution.

CIBER, a leading information technology consulting and outsourcing company, has already distinguished itself in the area of mobility expertise by providing end-to-end mobility solutions for ERP, warehousing, healthcare, logistics and other system environments worldwide. CIBER already has an app available on iTunes that is built on SUP and gives users access to product catalogs and product details, customer records including orders and invoices, a shopping basket for creating sales orders and quotes, an invoice display, key performance indicator metrics and more.

'Mobile applications represent significant value for businesses, from improving service and decision making based on real time information, to reducing sales cycles and enhancing inventory management. Having seen successes first-hand with our own customers, we at CIBER know that a sound mobility strategy and well-designed applications offer enormous opportunities to companies seeking to connect with their workers and customers who use mobile devices,' said Jonathan Bucktin, Managing Director of CIBER in Australia and New Zealand. 'This partnership with Sybase strengthens and multiplies the mobility solutions we'll be able to provide.'

'We're proud to welcome CIBER to our growing partner community,' said Dereck Daymond, Sybase Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. 'Its proven track record in successfully delivering enterprise software to organizations from a wide range of sectors will enable businesses to take advantage of the proliferation of smartphones and tablets with our market-leading mobility solutions.'

Now’s the Time for 400G Migration

The optical fibre community is anxiously awaiting the benefits that 400G capacity per wavelength will bring to existing and future fibre optic networks.

Nearly every business wants to leverage the latest in digital offerings to remain competitive in their respective markets and to provide support for fast and ever-increasing demands for data capacity. 400G is the answer.

Initial challenges are associated with supporting such project and upgrades to fulfil the promise of higher-capacity transport.

The foundation of optical networking infrastructure includes coherent optical transceivers and digital signal processing (DSP), mux/demux, ROADM, and optical amplifiers, all of which must be able to support 400G capacity.

With today’s proprietary power-hungry and high cost transceivers and DSP, how is migration to 400G networks going to be a viable option?

PacketLight's next-generation standardised solutions may be the answer. Click below to read the full article.
