There are serious questions about the affordability accessibility and availability of communications services according to ACCAN CEO, Teresa Corbin, which we covered in articles yesterday entitled ‘Affordability of telecoms services under’ and here ‘More information on comms ‘affordability’ needed, says ACCC chief’.
So, we asked Corbin to tell us about ACCAN and the yearly conference, and then asked ‘What are the main communications affordability issues that are affecting Australian consumers?’.
Corbin explained what can be done to ensure that all consumers have equitable access to communications service, and talked about the barriers that affordability presented for digital inclusion.
We spoke about the 2015 Apps for All Challenge, which we’ll look at it greater detail in a separate article.
We discuss what the next 5 to 10 years might hold before, and sought Corbin’s final message not just for iTWire viewers and readers, but for all Australians and to people in government and the comms space watching.
