Ruckus Wi-Fi stays in AccorHotels, reaching 4000+ properties globally

AccorHotels has chosen a new Wi-Fi bedfellow, Ruckus, to help it streamline its digital initiatives across 90 countries and 17 complementary brands.

Ruckus Wireless has been selected as the "preferred Wi-Fi partner" of AccorHotels, the French hotel giant.

Through the collaboration, Ruckus says it will "update AccorHotels’ Wi-Fi technology and infrastructure to help ensure high performance for both customers and hotels, enable future developments, and intensify the strength of AccorHotel’s digital services".

AccorHotels Group has an impressive presence in over 90 countries and more than 3700 hotels with over 480,000 rooms.

As such, it is able to offer hotel packages tailored to the needs of all business and leisure guests.

However, its service offerings need to be streamlined for new standards and customer requirements, particularly to meet future demand.

And so Ruckus Wireless was selected to "equip AccorHotels’ global properties with Wi-Fi technologies and service offerings, while updating its technical infrastructure".

Naturally, the Ruckus 802.11ac access point (AP) product portfolio with the Ruckus management platform will provide both cost and process efficiencies across locations. As a "top-three worldwide hotel brand", AccorHotels is the only hotel group spanning the full spectrum of hotel options, from luxury to economy.

The hotel group’s slogan is ”Feel Welcome," and it "enables its 17 brands to meet all the needs of its business and leisure travellers seeking comfort, attention and high-quality services".

As a result, the hotel group says that it "must provide reliable wireless connectivity around the clock across each of its properties". David Esseryk, vice-president of guest technology and innovation at AccorHotels, said: “Our digital strategy is hyper-focused on our customers and owners – and their expectations for high-performance, multi-access, personalised Wi-Fi services.

“Ruckus’ understanding of the hospitality industry and close relationship with global HSIA services providers made the choice clear-cut. We look forward to working together, streamlining processes and ultimately further enhancing our powerful brand DNA.”

Ruckus notes that, for many hoteliers, "wireless coverage tends to be spotty, performance erratic, and connections unstable", while "the amount of users accessing Wi-Fi concurrently from multiple devices only adds to the list of problems".

However, we are told that "Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity for guests is no longer an amenity, but a must-have requirement, and many hoteliers view wireless connectivity as an essential element to improving guest satisfaction".

Thus it is no surprise to see Ruckus Wireless proudly boast that, "for hotels that want faster, more reliable Wi-Fi services at a lower overall cost of ownership, Ruckus Wireless has become the gold standard".

Ruckus explains that it "offers the only Wi-Fi system for hotels that combines SmartMesh technology with directional, high-gain RF signal routing and centralised management with 802.11ac".

What is the result?

Well, naturally we are told that "the result is unprecedented coverage and performance at an affordable price".

Patrick DeRoy, director, EMEA hospitality solutions, Ruckus Wireless said: “As the largest hotel operator in the world and a leader in Europe, AccorHotels exemplifies how to differentiate through robust, reliable digital offerings.

“As a trusted provider for many of the world’s leading hospitality brands, our team will ensure AccorHotels delivers the best global Wi-Fi technology and customer experience worldwide.”
