Mr Ryan will be a member of the executive committee and report to the CEO.
At the time of publication, Peter Ryan had failed to update his LinkedIn page and NBN Co had failed to update its executive biographies page.
Why highly paid public servants or their highly paid assistants can’t do simple things like update these pages and provide the media relevant photos before making such announcements is unknown, perhaps they are too busy rolling out the nbn faster, sooner and cheaper, two years after such promises were made by the relevant Federal Communications Minister at the time.
Mr Ryan joined nbn in early 2013 and has been acting in the role since 14 October 2015. nbn co says ‘he has been selected as the successful candidate from an impressive global talent pool.’
nbn Chief Executive Officer, Bill Morrow, said: “Peter is a global veteran of the telco industry and has built a sound knowledge of the business in his previous role of Executive General Manager, Regional Deployment. His expertise is complemented by his strong relationships with the team, both in-house and in our extended team within the delivery partner network. He brings fresh eyes to the role to pair with his experience in the network build." said Morrow.
Morrow's comments continue below, please read on.
“I welcome Peter to the role and look forward to working with him in what will without doubt be some of nbn’s most exciting years. Peter will play a key role on a very capable executive team driving exponential network growth and integration across the multi-technology mix. This is one of the largest infrastructure projects ever seen in Australia and quite possibly, the world," continued Morrow.
“I’m proud that we have the calibre of people to make an internal appointment possible and it’s a great reflection on Peter’s success in his prior roles that he is able to step up to this new challenge.
“He will continue to drive engineering, design and network deployment activities leveraging the strong industry partnerships nbn has recently negotiated,” Morrow concluded.
