Ex-Vodafone chief and current NBN Co CEO Bill Morrow has continued the company's massive restructure, announcing that Dennis Steiger and Stephen Rue are the two newest faces to join the now almost unrecognisable executive lineup.
The news comes almost two months after NBN Co announced a surprise executive clean out that cost long-time CTO Gary McLaren his position, as well as CFO Robin Payne and head of corporate services Kevin Brown.
Replacements for McLaren and Payne were announced today, while Brown’s former position of head of corporate services was not renewed.
Dennis Steiger will join the organisation as NBN Co's new CTO in late July, while former News Corporation CFO Stephen Rue will become NBN Co's new CFO from 1 July.
Steiger was most recently the CTO at Canadian telco Shaw Communications, while Rue spent ten years as the CFO at News Limited, and was recently a director at both Foxtel and REA Group.
"Stephen is a well-credentialed senior finance executive who has managed a business through a complex and high profile transformation. His transparent approach is welcome at a time NBN Co continues to accelerate on its delivery," CEO Morrow said in a statement.
"Stephen is an enthusiastic and engaging executive and I look forward to working with him."
The company also talked up the appointment of Dennis Steiger as new CTO.
“As NBN Co prepares to move to the Multi Technology Mix NBN, Mr Steiger brings to the company more than 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications and technology industries and extensive experience working across different access systems technologies,” NBN Co said.
Under the restructure new CTO Steiger will report to Chief Operating Officer Greg Adcock rather than the CEO, while Rue will report to the CEO as a member of the Executive Committee.
