Boost's new 2019 plans a boost for pre-paid customers wanting great value

By

The MVNO wars continue apace, with mobile virtual network operators offering excellent deals to capture the hearts, minds and wallets of consumers, with Boost's early 2019 plans no exception.

Boost Mobile. The company bills itself as the world’s largest youth-focused telco brand and has announced it has updated and enhanced its Boost Anytime Plus mobile plans.

The plans now include "increased data on plans from baseline $10 to $70 plans and International calls across 55 eligible destinations and extended rollover to all 28 day plans".

There's also a new move that mimics one we've seen from players like Kogan Mobile in the past.

This sees the introduction of the option for "customers to bulk buy with new 6 & 12 month plans from $100-$300, which provide consumers with bulk data and International Direct Dialling (IDD) to use their way with 6 months (186 days) or 12 months (366 days) expiry".

So, what do the new Boost Anytime Plus Plans offer?

We're told the new plans "will see an increase to data inclusions on plans $10 and above, with increases ranging from an extra 1.5GB up to a huge 13GB on the $70 recharge".

In addition, "for the first 5 recharges, customers will also receive 15GB bonus data when they activate and recharge before 25th Feb, with remaining recharges by 2nd September. Data rollover was introduced during the company’s October Refresh; and has now been extended to plans as low as $20, with unused data rolling over to use within the next recharge".

Boost Mobile also notes its customers "can also keep in touch with friends and family overseas with international inclusions now available on the $10 recharge and an additional five destinations now included in the 55 eligible destinations.

"Boost mobile offers unlimited calls and text plus included minutes and texts across the 55 eligible destinations depending on the recharge value, from 20 unlimited eligible destinations and 100 minutes and calls to 35 destinations on the $10 recharge to 30 unlimited eligible destinations and 300 minutes and calls to 25 eligible destinations on the $70 recharge."

What's more on this new bulk buy offering?

Here we're told that "customers can bulk buy with the new Boost 6 & 12 month plans giving consumers increased flexibility, value and ability to set and forget their plans with features such as bulk data, International calls and long expiry. Starting at $100 for 6 months, customers will get 60GB right up to $300 for 12 months, with a whopping 240GB".

Jason Haynes, general manager, Boost Mobile, said: “We know that data and keeping in touch whether on a beach or at a music festival, is more important than ever to young Aussies when they’re choosing their mobile network. So we’ve set about developing plans with our customers’ top of mind, providing them with the perfect balance; more data, more speed, and a great network.

“Boost Mobile operates on Telstra’s mobile network which has more than one million square kilometres of coverage than its competitors. There is simply no better choice for consumers that want to stay in touch while travelling around our great country.

“The option for customers to bulk buy with our new plans, means customers can set and forget, and be rewarded with increased value without having to worry about recharging and have more time to do the things they love. The Boost team are super excited to be launching these awesome new offers that will benefit both our new and existing customer on every recharge. We want to make sure we constantly offer more compelling choices for young Aussies when it comes to mobile plans”, he added.

New Boost Mobile Ambassador and surfing legend, Sally Fitzgibbons, had the following to say: “It's such a natural fit to be with Boost Mobile as their strength is in utilising Telstra’s network coverage. I base myself on the South Coast of NSW and I am always on the road looking for the best waves, so the coverage suits me and my lifestyle. I can get all the data I need. It's so awesome when I can load all my favourite surf inspo clips before I surf and upload pics and clips to socials of all my adventures that day, with no worries from so many places."

New customers can enjoy Boost Anytime when activating a Boost Handset or SIM, existing customers on the Boost Anytime plans switch automatically on their next recharge after the 26th of February, while other existing Boost customers can switch to the new offer as per the current Change Offer process. With "more data, more coverage and more choice", Boost Mobile naturally states that it is "the perfect mobile companion for an action-packed 2019 and beyond".

Where can I get a Boost SIM if I don't already have one?
