Boost Mobile partners with Alegre in refurbished phone deal

Boost Mobile has partnered with refurbished device company Alegre to launch a full range of Boost refurbished phones for its customers, while also announcing new Anytime Plus mobile plans bonus data offers.

The company says the offer means customers can now pick up a refurbished iPhone from “as little as $249 or a Samsung Galaxy from $339 providing significant value for savvy consumers”.

Boost says the offer provides “massive savings” of up to $550 to be made across all Boost Mobile Premium Refurbished Phones plus a FREE $30 Boost Mobile Prepaid SIM with “loads of data”, and customers can save $750 on a Samsung Galaxy S9+ 256GB (premium refurbished RRP $749 v new $1499) or save $450 on an iPhone 7 128 GB.

According to Boost, its own commissioned research has found that 74% of young Australian’s would consider purchasing a refurbished phone, which it says “helps explain the significant growth in the refurbished ‘second life’ smartphone market”.

And Boost says the rising cost of flagship phone prices has also caused consumers to pause and consider other options, with Boost also finding that 75% of young Australian’s would only be willing to spend up to $1100 on a phone.

“For 18 years Boost Mobile has been connecting Australians, seeking to find the best value for our customers, and giving them more choice. Refurbs are a great option for consumers who are looking for a great smartphone at a fraction of the price,” said Peter Adderton, founder, Boost Mobile.

“You can now come to boost.com.au and bundle 12 months’ worth of connectivity on Australia’s biggest mobile network, with loads of data alongside a great quality refurb smartphone. With the added benefit of ZipPay you can pay this off for a little as $10 per week.

“Through Boost Mobile, you can have the peace of mind that the phones are coming from a trusted source, 100% Australian compliant, includes a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, 12 month warranty, and has been put through its paces with rigorous testing. Throw in a free $30 SIM and access to Australia’ s biggest mobile network, free delivery, and its a compelling offer, too good to refuse!”

Boost says all 28 day expiry Boost Anytime Plus recharges will offer a bonus 15GB for the first 3 recharges for new and migrating customers.

“When customers recharge before the 2nd of September on any $30 - $70 Boost Anytime Plus plan, an extra 15GB will be automatically added onto the existing data allowance giving them up to a whopping 80GB of data.

“Changes are also being made to the Anytime Plus Add Ons. With the $5 add on, the extra data allowance included is being boosted from 500MB to 1GB. Similarly, with the $15 add on, the extra data allowance is being boosted to 3GB. Furthermore, the $15 add-on now includes $15 credit to use on standard rates for international calls and text from Australia.”

“We have seen an exponential rise in the interest and acceptance of refurbished phones over the last few years, as people realise the high calibre of phones on offer that have gone through rigorous testing and cleaning,” said Russell Lornie, Alegre.

“There are also a growing number of consumers actively seeking out refurbished phones with a view to having access to the latest technology while playing their own part in trying to minimise their personal e-waste.”
