Amaysim strikes back with 'Australia’s best value 40GB mobile plan' for $50 Featured

As of today, Amaysim's 28-day $50 pre-paid plan offers a whopping 40GB data and unlimited calls and text in Australia, with unlimited calls to 10 countries, while the $40 plan now offers 20GB and the $30 plan gets you 10GB.

Although MVNO or mobile virtual network competitors such as Kogan Mobile currently offer 2-for-1 deals for new customers who pre-pay for 365 days, and which are clearly competitive for those needing such deals and wishing to pay a year in advance, the regular price for Kogan's biggest deal is $49.90 per 30 days, with unlimited calls and texts, and 32GB of data.

Seeking to blast past this deal is Amaysim, whose 28-day plan is 10c more, has unlimited calls and text in Australia, unlimited calls to 10 countries, and a whopping 40GB of data.

No doubt this will start off yet another pre-paid price war, but if you need masses of data and don't want to pay for higher cost plans from Vodafone or Telstra for data plans that are full speed for tens of gigabytes before being slowed down to 1.5Mbps speeds, then Amaysim's new plans are sure to be tempting, especially if a world of easy number porting that lets you change between carriers as often as you want appeals to you.

You see, Amaysim is still the fourth largest mobile service provider with 1.1 million customers, and it undoubtedly wants to stay that way, and with 40GB on its biggest plan, we're seeing data inclusions 10 times larger than the 4GB it started with all those years ago.

So, what else is Amaysim offering?

Well, all of Amaysim's plans offer unlimited calls and text in Australia, at 28 days per billing cycle, with the difference being the amount of data, and whether any calls to 10 international destinations are included or not.

Amaysim's cheapest plan is still $10, with 1GB of data. The $20 plan is still 2.5GB, but it's the $30, $40 and $50 plans that have changed, and those last three are the ones with unlimited calls to 10 countries, while the $50 plan also offers an additional 300 minutes to 22 more countries.

The $30 plan now offers 10GB, double the previous 5GB.

The $40 plan now offers 20GB, 5GB more than the previous 15GB.

Then there's the jewel in the crown, the $50 plan, which offers 40GB, double the previous 20GB data allocation, all naturally as fast as your 4G Optus connection can go.

Amaysim says "the move comes as Aussies’ mobile data usage is on the rise, growing by 49% on smartphones last year alone, according to recent research from the ABS".

We're told that "future surges are also predicted in 2018".

Maik Retzlaff, Amaysim’s commercial director of Mobile said: “We know that Aussies increasingly love using their data, so if it’s streaming their favourite TV shows, connecting with love ones, or swiping right, we’re giving our customers just what they need at a great, non-promotional price.

“Whether customers need 1GB or 40GB of data, they can change plans as many times as they like, in a matter of seconds, using our app – at no extra cost.”
