Vodafone declares NBN price war, blasts price down, from $58

By

Stating it is taking the "telco war on price from mobile to NBN", Vodafone says it is "making high speed Vodafone NBN available to new and existing customers for under $60 per month" with savings of "up to $480 per year".

Vodafone said its price drop comes as the company "champions better value for Australians, combined with industry leading 4G back-up, 30-day Network Satisfaction Guarantee and no lock-in contracts".

The new Vodafone NBN offer comes in "three simple plans with nothing to pay up front, making it the best value unlimited broadband on the market":

  • Essential NBN (25 tier) – $58 per month
  • Essential+ NBN (50tier) – $69 per month ($59 for existing post-paid mobile customers)
  • Premium NBN (100 tier) – $89 per month ($79 for existing post-paid mobile customers)

Vodafone’s chief commercial officer Ben McIntosh said: "Vodafone spearheads more value and better choice for mobile customers and now it’s time to take this to fixed broadband market.

“There has never been a better time to revaluate your broadband plan – to look for the most affordable way to get the speed you need.

“Over six million Australians say they are unlikely to switch, even though they know they can get a better deal. People are losing out on up to $480 of savings every year.”

“Our $58 NBN25 plan is outstanding value with nothing to pay up front. And to further reward our post-paid mobile customers, they can upgrade to our NBN50 plan for just a dollar more per month.

“For the 30% of Australians that are currently paying too much, now is the time to act.

“Thirty-four percent of Australians said they are dissatisfied with the speed of their traditional home Internet. We agree. That’s why we no longer promote NBN12 and have introduced substantial discounts on our other Vodafone NBN plans.”

As part of Vodafone’s "commitment to raising the industry standard for flexibility and value", the company says "all existing customers will be proactively transitioned onto the new price points".

“We believe in offering great value for everybody, so if you are already a Vodafone nNBNbn customer you won’t miss out on the savings,” McIntosh said.

The new Vodafone NBN plans are available from today with more information here.
