EU investigators urge charge against Intel: WSJ

NEW YORK (Reuters) - European Union investigators have recommended that Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes formally charge Intel Corp. (INTC.O: QuoteProfile , Research) with thwarting competition in the computer-chip market, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

As far back as 1997, Intertainer founder Jonathan T. Taplin stated that one day all movie and video distribution would happen through the Internet, and started a company to do just that. Although it closed in 2002 despite hundreds of thousands of customers, Interntainer still holds key patents that are being used to sue major online video distributors.
