The Commonwealth Bank of Australia today reported strong interim results with net profit after tax surging to $2.9 billion for the six months to the end of December - and while it's not all due to IT, the bank's CIO claimed CBA technology now amounted to an 'engine for growth.'

Microsoft Surface slips into Australia

ANZ, Curtin University and Lonely Planet are among the early enterprise adopters of Microsoft Surface which the company officially released in Australia today - the 19th country in the world to get Surface after its May 2007 announcement.
