Trellis Data says the fresh capital puts the company in a strong position to accelerate expansion both in Australia and overseas, and fuel further development of its “world-leading” Trellis Intelligence Platform.
The Trellis Intelligence Platform provides what the company says is a “world-first, real-time explanation” of neural networks to enable trusted real-time automated decision making, taking out the ‘black box’ of AI.
It also provides ‘one-click’ machine learning to create and deploy neural networks allowing non data scientists to use the power of AI to solve complex business problems.

The Trellis Intelligence Platform is currently used by a number of sectors, including Australian Government and Defence, financial services and consulting services.
Trellis Data says that currently, the platform is being deployed to help detect hitchhiker pests on containers at Australia’s shipping ports, making decisions at the edge for the Australian Defence Force, determining the compliance of documents against international standards as well as understanding the reasons for a customer’s change of behaviour (i.e. predicting non-compliance).
Based in Canberra, Trellis Data remains fully Australian owned and the company says it has experienced “tremendous success since launching, profitably growing over 100% year-on-year over the last three years”.
Trellis Data says it aims to build on this success further with the fresh investment going towards scaling across Australian Government and private sector markets as well as international expansion in 2021.
