HealthEngine readies for ‘aggressive growth’, new capital raising Featured

By

Online health directory and booking service HealthEngine is set to implement a rapid growth strategy and embark on a second capital raising just one year on from a $10.4 million investment in the company by Telstra and Seven West Media.

Announcing the appointment of Telstra’s Group Managing Director, Media and Marketing, Mark Buckman to the HealthEngine board, Chairman Pat O’Sullivan said the company is looking to double its membership of 3,000 practitioners at over 1,000 health practices across Australia in the next year.

Buckman joins existing board members O’Sullivan (also carsales.com.au non-executive director), Nick Chan, Group COO of Seven West Media and Matthew Koertge, Managing Director of Telstra Ventures Australia.

CEO and Medical Director, Dr Marcus Tan says the group will embark on another capital raising in the “near future” to fund and accelerate its growth plans.

“We are committed to bringing even more health practices onto the HealthEngine platform to give Australians everywhere the greatest selection of available appointments possible.”

Dr Tan says more than 600,000 Australians are already visiting the HealthEngine website every month to find and book over 500,000 available appointments from health practitioners around the country.

“HealthEngine understands the importance of trust and professionalism in the delivery of healthcare. As the market leader in the provision of online health services, we are best positioned to provide the most reliable platform in Australia for both patients and practices.”
