Foxtel-HBO deal brings expanded content to Aussie viewers

Foxtel has released a raft of new on-demand content, including new movies, as it expands its new agreement with US broadcasting giant HBO.

Foxtel says Australian customers will now have instant access to the new content from February with HBO’s “massive” library including “some of the world’s greatest dramas, of new releases and past hits including Big Little Lies and Girls, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War”.

Foxtel customers can also watch a new Home and Away special event. Home and Away: All or Nothing, which premiered on Australia Day, is now available exclusively on Foxtel On Demand. Home and Away: All or Nothing joins Home and Away: Revenge, which aired in December, and brings Summer Bay favourites Dan Ewing and Lisa Gormley back in their roles as Heath and Bianca Braxton.

The company says in today’s announcement that all Foxtel residential customers with an Internet-connected Foxtel iQ box could instantly stream any of Foxtel’s on-demand programming as well as recording a “huge amount of great programming to watch when it suits them”.

Foxtel Play, Foxtel’s streaming-only service, also allows access to drama live and on-demand and is available from $15 per month.

Both Foxtel residential and Foxtel Play customers have complimentary access to Foxtel’s companion streaming app, Foxtel Go, which enables them to stream TV live and On Demand to selected smartphones and tablets.
