Nebtrex unveils latest enhancements to unique server range

ImageNebtrex, a premier Australian provider of backup, storage and disaster recovery and remote monitoring services has unveiled the latest enhancements to its unique Backup Server range.

The company's easy-to-use family of servers enable high-performance total data management solutions catering for the needs of all sizes and types of business, from enterprise businesses down to small and midsize business.

A range of upgrades and new features emerged through the development of Releases 3.5 and 3.5.1 earlier this year, including file sharing, enhancements to MySQL, PostgreSQL and NetBox backups, update and reporting improvements, and automatic storage of all databases as individual files allowing direct access to each database.

Release 3.5.2 now takes functionality a step further with an improved user interface to simplify usability.  The addition of a Time Server (NTP) synchronises time throughout a users network and now supports localised time zones.  It also now features a built-in Network Boot Server (TFTP / PXE) and a DHCP Server.

The enhanced solution delivers fast back-ups with multiple snapshots utilising data de-duplication, multiple offsite options, continuous data availability, and fast disaster recovery options, all with a more attractive price tag than ever.

Nebtrex Managing Director Stewart Campbell said that along with the revision, the company has reduced pricing across the board and extended its services to New Zealand as well.

"Our Nebtrex Backup Server range was already one of the most cost-effective on the market, but these latest updates have enabled us to pass on additional savings to our clients."

"We're also really excited to be able to extend our advance replacement service and Backup Server range support to New Zealand as well, at no additional charge to our trans-Pacific clients."

Each Backup Server's complete configuration is updated and stored at Nebtrex via the company's Management Servers, with pre-configured replacement units advance-shipped to client sites in the event of unit failure – a service previously only available Australia-wide.

Nebtrex pays the freight both ways (Australian and New Zealand) and the replacement unit can simply be plugged in and it's ready to go.

Nebtrex recent product improvements have been a substantial move towards reducing user downtime even more than previous versions.

"Typically when a company's server goes down, time has to be spent diagnosing the unit, ordering and waiting for parts, repairs or replacement, and then restoring the operating system and data once everything's up and running again," said Stewart.

"That represents a significant cost to any business in time and money, not to mention the impact on productivity and customer service."

Nebtrex Backup Servers are supported by 24-7 remote monitoring, with the reseller or end-user contacted direct the moment any issues or potential problems are identified.

Stewart says it's that kind of pro-active and personalised approach that is seeing Nebtrex make significant inroads in the business-to-business technology market.

"We're listening and customising our products based on customer and distributor feedback and real-world business demands, but more importantly we're providing genuine support and the sort of immediate response businesses need."

The updated release is available now and the company's next release, which will feature significant new features and enhancements, is in development.
