Here are the details (clouds permitting, of course!)
For Eastern Australia Daylight Time:
First contact: 8:15pm
Start totality: 9:25pm
End totality: 10:24pm
Last contact: 11:34pm
South Australia, times are 30 minutes earlier; Queensland, 60 minutes earlier; Northern Territory 90 minutes earlier and Western Australia, 3 hours earlier. Note that the moon will rise in Perth at 6:19pm, which is only 6 minutes prior to the start of totality.
This specific Blood Moon has nothing to do with the strong reddish hue the moon will take during the eclipse - that happens on every lunar eclipse and is due to the sun's light being filtered through the Earth’s atmosphere and having the blue spectrum removed by the oxygen in the air (that’s why we see the sky as blue!).
Enjoy the event - it's the last eclipse for the year.
