Review - Tribeaway: Interactive Sharing for Android

Tribeaway: Interactive Sharing is a clever Android app that provides a range of communications opens - including text chat and VoIP - while sharing photographs and images in real-time.

The social media market is getting pretty crowded and apps need to be innovative to stand out in the ubiquituous stream of photo-sharing and instant messaging platforms. Tribeaway: Interactive Sharing by Ittiam Systems Pte. Ltd. does just that, providng a novel twist on photo sharing.

At heart, Tribeaway: Interactive Sharing is a real-time photo-sharing app, but with collaboration and communications features added to the mix. Your friends, family or business colleagues alike can see your photos as you show them, and even better, as you manipulate them. You can rotate, zoom, pan and point among your images with these actions reflected on the screens of your audience immediately.

While this is going on you can conduct a text chat over the top of the image, or engage in a VoIP conference call. These gatherings are named "tribes" and each tribe can have up to four participants. A copy of your photos is not actually saved on your friend's devices, just the screencast, thus ensuring you continue to control distribution of your images.

You can organise your pictures into collections, named stories, and share these stories amongst your tribes.

Ittiam Systems Pte. Ltd. states it has applied a lot of thought and design to Tribeaway: Interactive Sharing, and this shows in the crisp and clear user interface, as well as with the compressed but still sharp VoIP and image reproduction.

Tribeaway: Interactive Sharing offers you new ways to share and discuss your photos with others than offered by current photo or social media applications. It equally provides business users with collaboration opportunities they won't find in other packages.

Tribeaway: Interactive Sharing is free, and is available from the Google Play store.
