Trimble Remote Driver Assist covers the continent Featured

By

Trimble's new fleet monitoring system provides Australia-wide coverage by using cellular and satellite communications.

Introduced to help organisations meet their workplace health and safety responsibilities, Trimble's Remote Driver Assist system keeps in contact even when in the most remote parts of the country by combining GPS location with satellite and cellular communications.

The hardware can be readily fitted to a vehicle prior to a trip, so there's no need to equip an entire fleet just in case all of the vehicles will at some time travel into remote areas.

"Australia is full of blackspots where it is impossible to receive service, by combining GPS with satellite solutions we can provide drivers with a consistent level of service no matter where they are," said Tom Scahill, business area director at Trimble FSM ANZ.

"For the first time, response staff can immediately contact a driver anywhere in Australia to check on potential issues using the in-car communications function and coordinate repair, medical and rescue services if required."

Round the clock monitoring is provided by Dynamiq's emergency operations centre.
