Netscout today announced a new reseller agreement with PlexNet, a specialist in networking, application, infrastructure and security testing and analysis.   

Under the deal, PlexNet will offer DDOS mitigation, advanced threat protection and network visibility solutions.

Last week, a distributed denial-of-service attack measuring 1.7Tbps was reported by network security and monitoring company Arbor Networks.

The attack was carried out using memcached, the same application used to launch an attack measured at 1.35Tbps that was reported to have hit software hosting repository GitHub on 28 February.

According to Netscout, offering its solutions will help PlexNet to protect its Australian clients against threats to availability and advanced attacks that infiltrate networks to steal critical business assets.
