By

Microsoft is set to release patches for a whopping 57 vulnerabilities later this week.

Patch Tuesday soon rolls around, and this month Microsoft will release a dozen security bulletins, five rated critical and seven rated important.

A total of 57 vulnerabilities will be addressed by these bulletins. At least four bulletins will apply to every currently supported version of Windows, and only Server Core installations escape the critical list.

The list of affected software comprises Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 (including Server Core installations), Exchange Server 2007, Exchange Server 2010, and Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint.

Critical bulletins will address issues in Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

The February bulletins will also affect currently unspecified versions of Microsoft Office and the .NET Framework.

The bulletins are scheduled for release on Tuesday 12 February 2013 (US time).
