LastPass Identity now has a workstation login feature that uses the device-native biometric authentication of LastPass MFA for Windows PCs and Macs. It included an offline mode allowing secure authentication even when no internet access is available.
The other new feature of LastPass Identity now federates with Okta and Azure Active Directory as well as Microsoft Active Directory. This means that users no longer need their LastPass master password if they are logged into one of those identity providers.
These passwordless features are now available for all LastPass Identity customers.
"The truth of the matter is, passwords aren't fully going away; there are still some use cases where you have to manage passwords behind the scenes in order to provide that passwordless login experience for the user," said LogMeIn senior vice president and general manager of identity and access management John Bennett.
"As a leader in managing passwords, we believe we are uniquely positioned to help businesses provide the best balance of strong security and user experience. Our LastPass Identity solution does that by enabling IT to manage every password behind the scenes while also giving employees a simple, truly passwordless experience."
