The word Java and emergency patches seem to have become synonymous - Java 6 for OS X is up to version 41 and Java 7 for Windows is up to version 15.
It seems that more hackers prefer Java based exploits than any other. Don’t get me wrong Java is a very fine programing language and is a foundation for many mobile applications, games and web based content – but for the present one that most of us should live without. Java 6 is a legacy program for Mac OS X v10.6.8, Mac OS X Server v10.6.8, OS X Lion v10.7 and later, OS X Lion Server v10.7 and later, and OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 and later. A link to the Apple update for is here . Mac users can update to java 7 directly from www.java.com.
