VIDEO Interview + Keynote: Shara Evans, Futurist talks CyberCrime

Shara Evans, Futurist and CEO of Market Clarity, gave a day 2 closing keynote on ‘CyberCrime: From Sci-Fi to boardroom threat - where the challenges lie in the digital future.’

A lot of gazing into the future can often seem to revolve around Sci-Fi utopias, where everyone will have flying cars, in-home robots, intelligent dogs and levitating homes that sounds like an episode of the Jetsons.

However, the future isn’t guaranteed to be perfect, or utopian by any stretch of the imagination, with CyberCrime not only a clear and present danger, but a starkly looming threat we need to be seriously tackling today, so our tomorrows are far more secure and safer than they would otherwise be.

Although iTWire colleague and lead iTWire CeBIT Australia 2016 journalist Ray Shaw has already shared his thoughts on Shara’s presentation, which you can read in full here, I also took the opportunity of not only interviewing Shara but video recording her entire keynote presentation, with both videos available below to watch in full as you desire.

I first asked Shara to tell us a bit about herself, her journey to becoming a futurist, and her current company, Market Clarity.

We then looked in a little more detail at Shara’s latest ongoing research area, Future Tech 2026.

This is followed up by Shara sharing the key themes from her keynote, and what she hopes the CeBIT delegates will learn from her session.

Of course, as noted above, Shara’s excellent and detailed keynote presentation can be watched in full in a second embedded video below.

We then talked about the security of biometrics, what we can do about cameras recording our every move, and what is ‘the one emerging technology that people may not know about that can be a real game changer for enterprises?’

Shara shared what stands out for her in the Australian market regarding the use of business technologies, and what advice she would give to business owners so they can better prepare for the ‘future.’

Shara also shared some great advice she has received in the past, and her final message to iTWire readers and viewers, and to her current and future customers.
The first video below is Shara’s interview with me. This is the followed by Shara’s bio, after which I have embedded Shara’s Day 2 Closing CeBIT keynote at the end of this article.

Shara’s bio and her full Day 2 CeBIT Australia 2016 closing keynote is below, please read on.

Here is Shara’s Day 2 CeBIT keynote entitled ‘CyberCrime: From Sci-Fi to boardroom threat - where the challenges lie in the digital future.’
