Review – Jabra Evolve 75e professional earbuds

By

Wireless and corded headset manufacturer Jabra has released the world’s first professional UC-certified earbuds, the Evolve 75e.

The Jabra Evolve 75e is a set of business earbuds with a firm, yet flexible, band that fits around the back of your neck, sitting comfortably and holding the earbuds in place for long-time use.

To help find the perfect fit for your ears, the box includes small, medium and large EarGel and EarWing options which you can mix and match.

The headset is comfortable and slim while giving a solid feel behind your neck. You can enable vibration on this strap, alerting you to incoming calls with a gentle buzz.

Setting it up is pretty simple – press and hold its multi-function button until the Bluetooth LED begins flashing blue, then just follow the voice-guided instructions in your ear.

Being a business-grade device, it’s not just for your smartphone. The box includes a pre-paired USB dongle for use in your PC or laptop so you can use it with softphones, unified communications apps and the usual VoIP range like Skype, GoToMeeting, Cisco Webex, Google Hangouts. It is certified for Skype for Business, and is the world’s first professional set of earbuds to have unified communications certification.

As you would expect from a business-grade device, the headset includes active noise cancellation to eliminate unwanted background noise, with a simple button tap. It also includes wind noise cancellation.

Conversely, you can listen in to your surroundings without taking the headset off by pressing the Listen-In button for two seconds, allowing you to keep the headset on while you keep working.

The headset charges in about two hours, with 14 hours of battery life.

The unit includes three microphones to ensure it picks up your voice and filters out other noises, helping you be heard clearly.

The Jabra Evolve 75e is a serious business-grade piece of kit, for those who want comfortable, long-lasting, certified hands-free audio that works with their smartphone, tablet, desktop and laptop. You don’t have to settle for large bulky headphones that block your hearing and cause discomfort over time, and you don’t have to settle for cabled earbuds or earbuds that don’t block out — or allow — outside noise.

The Jabra Evolve 75e is available at a recommended retail price of $409 with a 30-day return policy. You can apply for a free trial at Jabra’s web site.
