Synnex, UBTECH Robotics partner on Australian robot distribution

By

Synnex has announced a partnership with artificial intelligence and humanoid robotics company UBTECH Robotics to distribute the latter's Alpha and Jimu range of robots in Australia from this month onwards.

In the partnership with UBTECH, Synnex will offer a comprehensive range of products and solutions, specifically designed to meet the needs of the STEM curriculum, to resellers and partners. The products will be available through major consumer electronic stores, toy retailers, and department stores.

Jay Ko, product director, Synnex Australia, said, “UBTECH’s product range will deliver key robotic learning skills in a fun and engaging way. Sophisticated tech-toys have also been identified as one of the ‘hot gifts’ for 2017.

“Synnex is confident the Alpha and Jimu range from UBTECH will be an enormous success in both the education and retail markets.”

Ko says UBTECH’s eco-friendly Alpha 1, a programmable humanoid robot and UBTECH’s Jimu Robot Kits, an interactive robotic building block system, are geared for both education and entertainment.

Warren Wang, chief operating officer, UBTECH Robotics, said, “As a leading AI and humanoid robotic enterprise, UBTECH is seeking for strategic partners globally just like Synnex. We strongly believe that with Synnex’s local market coverage and experience, we are much closer to our vision of bringing robots into every home.”

Wang says the Jimu Robot series reflect UBTECH’s commitment to science, technology, engineering, mathematics and arts (STEM/STEAM) learning.

The robots teach children how to design, build, code and to understand how to rapidly prototype, allowing them to train for skills and jobs that don’t exist yet.
