MyWave seeks developers and designers for Melbourne expansion

By

New Zealand based intelligent assistant software company MyWave wants to double the size of its Melbourne software development team.

MyWave chief technology officer James Ladd said MyWave has immediate vacancies for senior developers, technical leads, testers and project managers.

“Intelligent assistants will quite literally change the way we live our lives,” he said.

“Our intelligent assistant (IA) – Frank – controls a ground breaking platform now being rolled out to customers.

"We’re looking for brilliant developers who want to be part of the IA revolution and make a real difference – giving users control of their data and unprecedented power and simplicity in making choices and managing their daily lives.”

In addition to working on Frank and the MyWave platform, the new hires will participate in R&D activities and provide support for third-party extensions.

Ladd said experienced developers and designers lead teams in a ‘no managers’ environment, and everyone is empowered to make decisions and work in an Agile manner with iterations and regular releases.

Rotation between project teams on a regular basis ensures exposure to all parts of MyWave, including R&D activities, he added.

The ideal new hire, according to Ladd, will have taken applications from inception through to production and implementation. They will have used multiple languages including one or more of Ruby, Java and JavaScript and Smalltalk. They will understand the importance of test driven development (TDD) and pairing, and demonstrate a sound and proven understanding of object oriented design. Experience with React, Flux or Angular will be an advantage.

Appropriately qualified people, with the right to work in Australia, are encouraged to express their interest here.

Additional appointments will be made in the UK and US to support specific new customer implementations.
