FiniteIT launch new job search service

By

National technology recruitment firm, FiniteIT, has now transformed its website into a dynamic, fully functioning jobs board in its own right, which the company claims gives job seekers a whole new online experience.

FiniteIT general manager, Duncan Thomson, said today the 'next generation' website represented an example of how the company was 'revisiting old thinking to provide a completely new online offering for our candidates.'

'Challenging the traditional role of a recruitment agency website is never easy, but that was a key part of the brief,' Thomson said when Finite set out to achieve a complete redesign of the main website - www.finite.com.au .

Thomson said the company spent almost a year interviewing different web designers and commissioning trial designs, before finally settling on a small niche Sydney web design studio.

'The main difference with the new site is that it's now a dynamic and fully functioning job board in its own right,' Thomson said.

'Yes, most recruiters' sites will have a job search capability. This site however, has devoted its entire homepage to showcasing the many hundreds of job opportunities that we represent nationally, including many roles exclusive only to Finite.

Built in, is some very sophisticated job search, filtering and display functionality.  In addition to being a reference site for clients and candidates, the aim of the new site is to also build its own dedicated following of ICT job seekers looking to use the site as a first port of call when seeking a new role or assignment.'

According to Thomson  Finite is fortunate is having a 'unique mix' of blue chip clients in Australia that is very attractive to most ICT job seekers.

'It was very much a collaborative effort, with our designers working hand in hand with the technical team of our job dispatcher to write brand new search and filtering code to give the new site a real edge.'

Thomson said the company wanted to give the user an 'exciting and visually stimulating experience through regular movement, changing graphics and pleasing pallet of colours.'

In addition, there is a series of new updated candidate downloads; direct access to iProfile, 'the CV of the future'; social media sites LinkedIn and Twitter; and Finite's online electronic timesheeting system for our contractors. All client and candidate messages and reference information have also undergone a major refresh.'

But, according to Thomson, the new website is just the beginning of more changes.

'Things don't end there, this is only the initial release, further additional features and functionality are also under development and will be progressively added to the new site.

'We will also be actively seeking user experience feedback and see this as the beginning of an exciting new chapter in gaining extra next generation value from this important business tool - watch this space!'
