Finite Sydney2Surf team raises funds for Barnardos

A team of five from Sydney-based national ICT recruitment company, Finite, raised more than $5000 for charity, with its team participating in the recent Sydney City2Surf 14km fun run.

Finite has entered a team in the event over several years and this year the funds raised go to Barnardos Australia, one of the leading child protection charities which is very much at the forefront of finding real and permanent solutions for Australian children in desperate need.

The Finite team, along with thousands of other runners, ran the picturesque route starting in Sydney’s CBD, following the harbour shoreline through the eastern suburbs, up the notorious “Heartbreak Hill” and then down to Bondi.

This is the first year Finite has supported Barnardos, raising more than $5000 of the $18,000 total they raised at this year’s event, and double what they raised last year!

Finite regional manager and team captain, Niall Clerkin, said, “I think of it as Christmas for Sydneysiders. Let me explain: All humanity’s best qualities are on show. Thousands of volunteers manage, encourage, feed, resuscitate, support, assist, cajole and protect over 80,000 participants from Hyde Park in the City Centre, through a meandering (and mostly uphill it seems) course to Bondi Beach. Families, friends, companies, clubs and societies all get involved by creating teams, getting fit and raising money.

“Millions are raised for charities of every description. Even the clothes discarded at the starting line, keeping the runners warm until the last minutes before the race, are collected for donation to charities. It was also a beautiful winter’s day, all helping make it a truly great day!”

Active Vs. Passive DWDM Solutions

An active approach to your growing optical transport network & connectivity needs.

Building dark fibre network infrastructure using WDM technology used to be considered a complex challenge that only carriers have the means to implement.

This has led many enterprises to build passive networks, which are inferior in quality and ultimately limit their future growth.

Why are passive solutions considered inferior? And what makes active solutions great?

Read more about these two solutions, and how PacketLight fits into all this.

WEBINAR INVITE 8th & 10th September: 5G Performing At The Edge

Don't miss the only 5G and edge performance-focused event in the industry!

Edge computing will play a critical part within digital transformation initiatives across every industry sector. It promises operational speed and efficiency, improved customer service, and reduced operational costs.

This coupled with the new capabilities 5G brings opens up huge opportunities for both network operators and enterprise organisations.

But these technologies will only reach their full potential with assured delivery and performance – with a trust model in place.

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce a two-part digital event, sponsored by Accedian, on the 8th & 10th of September titled 5G: Performing at the Edge.
