Sydney-headquartered national recruitment firm Finite IT’s national sales manager Niall Clerkin has been appointed to the board of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo).

Finite IT general manager Duncan Thomson says Clerkin, who joined Finite in 2014, has been heavily engaged within the wider community, including direct involvement with innovative Indigenous training initiatives, leading the Finite Group’s City2Surf team, supporting local public speaking meetups and other events.

He also said Clerkin had been instrumental in achieving strong business results for 2016, introducing a number of successful new initiatives to help drive high team performance and customer engagement success.

Thomson, himself a previous representative on the APSCo board, said “the appointment was very well deserved”.

“Niall’s extensive experience, infectious passion, integrity and drive to succeed, should add great value to the Board. He is someone who always goes out of his way to make himself available to people whenever asked or needed. I look forward to the many ways that Niall and the APSCo Board will drive the technology recruitment industry forward to even greater professional heights.”

Commenting on his appointment, Niall said: “I am very pleased and excited to be included on the APSCo board amongst such high profile industry peers”.

“These are defining years for a recruitment industry under pressure and I look forward to discussing and debating some of the key challenges, and hopefully find ways of making the overall recruitment experience better, for clients, candidates and for contractors.”

Building dark fibre network infrastructure using WDM technology used to be considered a complex challenge that only carriers have the means to implement.

This has led many enterprises to build passive networks, which are inferior in quality and ultimately limit their future growth.

Why are passive solutions considered inferior? And what makes active solutions great?
