Speculation builds for Nintendo Feb 24 announcement

By
Nintendo has announced a world-wide all day event starting in Australia on February 24, speculation is rising as to what will be shown off at such an event, given the Game Developers Conference is just around the corner.

Plenty of speculation and salivation increasing around the impending world-wide Nintendo Media summit planned for later this month.

Starting in Melbourne Australia (iTWire's Radioactive IT will be there) on February 24th and likewise in San Francisco as well as Nintendo Europe on the 25th.

All media invites use similar wording '....Exclusive Preview of Nintendo Products to interact and view with an insight into Nintendo games for 2010. '

The good money is on announcements regarding release dates for Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M and a new Wii based Legend Of Zelda game, but there is also speculation we might finally see an application or game based around the Wii Vitality Sensor revealed at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) last year.

Other outside chances for preview, even at the 'on paper' stage are Pikman 3, but more excitedly some sort of news on the Wii's next hardware iteration.

The chances are slim for any lid-blowing on a Wii HD however, with the Game Developers Conference (GDC) happening next month, followed by E3 in June, this Nintendo only Summit will most likely focus on already announced titles, leaving any 'big' announcements to steal thunder from Microsoft and Sony and the subsequent shows.

So until the 24th, we should all remain calm, it will be good practise for any Vitality Sensor application anyway.
