Konica Minolta products score environmental gold rating

The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) system which rates electronic products against a range of environmental performance criteria has awarded Konica Minolta gold status.

Konica Minolta has been awarded for meeting strict environmental criteria that address the full product lifecycle, from energy conservation and toxic materials reduction to product longevity and end-of-life management.

Konica Minolta says it is the only company of its kind to achieve the highest possible certification from the world’s “foremost environmental accreditation body for electrical products”.

EPEAT is a free source of environmental product ratings that makes it easy to select high-performance electronics that support organisations’ IT and sustainability goals. Managed by the Green Electronics Council, EPEAT tracks more than 4400 products from more than 60 manufacturers across 43 countries, and is the definitive global environmental rating system for electronics.

According to Bill Christoforou, product marketing manager, Konica Minolta, the level of accreditation is rare, particularly in the Australian market.

“We have received Gold Status on the majority of our range, including our A3 multifunction devices. The fact that we are the only printer manufacturer in the country to attain Gold Status is something we are very proud of, as being environmentally conscious underpins everything we do.”
