Walsh joins Oki as wide-format BDM

Printer vendor Oki Data Australia has appointed Jim Walsh as business development manager for wide format printers.

"We are excited to welcome Jim to the Oki family," said ANZ managing director Alex Kawamura.

"His extensive skills and experience gained in the wide format market will be of immense value to our channel partners as they set out to support successful customer outcomes in this market.

"Our channel partners, prospects, customers, as well as Oki, will benefit from his insight and knowledge. Our investment in a dedicated resource for business development in the wide format market clearly demonstrates our commitment and desire to grow in this market."

Walsh has more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the IT industry.

He joins Oki from Fuji Xerox, where he was that company's wide format specialist, with responsibility for new business development, among other activities.

He previously worked at Epson Australia as channel manager and business development manager for business inkjet and wide format AEC printers.

Walsh has also worked for Océ Australia in a variety of senior sales roles, and also for Sophos, PowerServe, Eclipse Group and BTA Australia, among others.
