MSP software provider Datto has made two regional sales appointments.

Danny Mesrop joins Datta as Sydney-based vice president of sales for APAC.

He previously spent seven years at Akamai, most recently as APJ regional vice president for channels and alliances.

Earlier in his career, Mesrop was a business solutions consultant at Verizon, part of Avaya's regional business development team, and a network engineer at Gen-i.

He holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University (Scotland).

Tom Fernandez has been promoted to the role of regional sales manager for Asia.

Fernandez joined Datto as a result of its acquisition of Autotask, where he was working as Asia Pacific regional sales manager after spending four years as a business development representative.

He previously worked as a protection support officer at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

Fernandez holds an honours degree in political science and government from Macquarie University.

"Prioritising word-class sales talent with experience in forging relationships across the globe is a top priority for Datto," said Datto chief revenue officer Sanjay Singh.

"Datto has been very clear in its commitment to helping global IT providers transform to the managed services model. Making real investments in regional leadership and resources is a core part of that promise. I'm very pleased to be able to welcome our new sales leaders as they drive our teams to support the accelerated growth of MSP partners in markets across the globe."
