Telstra's head of Enterprise & Government, Nerida Caesar to leave

By

Telstra's group managing director, Enterprise & Government, Nerida Caesar, is to leave the company in early 2011 and be replaced by Paul Geason, currently group managing director, Telstra Wholesale.

Telstra CEO, David Thodey, said: "Nerida has led one of the company's largest and most important divisions, achieving revenue growth in a tough competitive environment." No reason was given for her departure.

Thodey added that Geason "has more than a decade of high-level commercial experience. He first joined Telstra in 1994, holding positions in Telstra's legal and product management teams. After a two-year stint working in the United States, in 2006, Mr Geason joined Telstra Enterprise & Government, before being appointed to lead Telstra Wholesale in 2009."

Glenn Osborne, currently executive director, Telstra wholesale sales, will lead Telstra Wholesale on an acting basis from 24 December 2010.

Caesar has held her current post since June 2009 and prior to that was briefly GMD of Telstra Wholesale. In March 2009 she was promoted to that role from the role of executive director, national sales at Telstra Enterprise and Government.

She took on her current role soon after becoming GMD wholesale to fill the role vacated by David Thodey when he as made CEO. She was replaced as head of Wholesale by Geason.

Caesar joined Telstra in 2006 as executive director, customer management teams and was soon given responsibility for managing the relationships with Telstra's 1500 enterprise and government customers nationally.

Before joining Telstra, she spent 20 years at IBM, starting as a sales representative at IBM Australia and rising to be vice president of IBM Asia Pacific's Intel Server division.
