Telstra's chief financial officer Robyn Denholm has resigned from the company and will be taking up the position of Tesla board chairman from 13 November.
Telstra chief executive Andy Penn said in statement to the ASX that Denholm would continue in her role until 6 May 2019 when her six-month notice period expires.
“We are sorry to see Robyn leave Telstra. We know that it has become increasingly difficult to balance her responsibilities as Telstra chief financial officer with the increased activity of the Tesla Board,” Penn said.
The Tesla board will ensure that any new commitments for Denholm will not prevent her focusing on her Telstra job, another director will take on the majority of her responsibilities.
The statement also said Denholm would be stepping down from her other Tesla board committee responsibilities during this time.
Denholm joined Telstra in January 2017 as chief operations officer and became chief financial officer on 1 October.
She assisted in the delivery of Telstra’s commercial agreements with NBN Co and setting the strategic direction for the company’s Networks for the Future and Digitisation programs.
“We are undertaking a search for a new chief financial officer and will provide an update on a replacement appointment as soon as possible,” Penn said.
