Software AG makes three senior appointments


Enterprise software vendor Software AG has appointed Gordon Gakovic as managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

"Throughout his career, Gordon has demonstrated outstanding leadership and has an excellent track record of helping companies transform their IT infrastructure and grow their business," said chief operating officer for APJ Stanimira Koleva.

"We are delighted to have Gakovic in this new and expanded role, and I am confident that his leadership and results-driven approach will serve to further fuel Software AG's ambitious plans across Australia and New Zealand, and lead the team to new heights."

Gakovic (pictured) joined Software AG in 2013 as national sales director.

He has worked in the regional ICT market for more than 25 years, including a variety of at Oracle, IBM and EMC.

Gakovic holds a Bachelors degree in Applied Science (Computing, Computer Programming) from Monash University.

Further executive appointments

In addition, Software AG also announced the appointment of Michael Cross as APJ industry solution director and Ron van Rooij as APJ solution business development director.

Cross has been with Software AG since 2010 in a similar ANZ role. He previously worked for CA, Red Hat, webMethods (now part of Software AG), Novell, Centrelink and the Australian Federal Police.

He holds a BA (Information Systems and Politics) from the University of New South Wales.

van Rooij has also worked for Software AG since 2010, but as a pre-sales consultant.

He previously worked for a range of companies including Tibco and Compuware.
