Pillay appointed APJ SVP at Veeam

Backup specialist Veeam Software has appointed Shiva Pillay to the role of senior vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan.

"Shiva's exceptional skill set and aptitude for fostering and maintaining meaningful relationships will no doubt contribute to Veeam cementing its position as a key market player in 2021 and beyond," said Veeam CEO Bill Largent.

"His determination to drive impactful change within the industry and his experience in demonstrating this so far within the company makes Shiva the perfect candidate for this role. Shiva is a born leader, and I have every confidence he will lead our APJ team to great success this year."

Pillay was promoted to the new role from his previous position of vice president of sales and field operations, APJ.

He joined Veeam in 2018 from The SCE Group, where is was vice president of global sales strategy, mergers and acquisitions.

Pillay previously served as senior vice president of global services at Prevalent, vice president of APJ sales and business development at SevOne, Earlier in his career he held several roles at RSA, culminating in that of APJ global services lead.

He holds s BA in psychology from the University of Wollongong.
