Ruckus Wireless has appointed a new global VP of Marketing to help drive strategic growth and lead global marketing efforts across all areas of corporate, product, technical, field and channel, alongside demand generation, field training, marcomms and events.
His name is Kash Shaikh, and if his game’s as good as his name, he’ll be leaving his competitors quaking and shaking in their boots with some smooth market moves.
He will report to Dan Rabinovitsj, COO of Ruckus, and will ‘oversee the strategic management of global marketing initiatives to help drive Ruckus thought leadership, brand awareness and product adoption, continuing to grow and expand the successful brand equity Ruckus has achieved in the industry that sets the company apart from its competitors.’
Which naturally sounds like a little bit of marketing all of its own right there.
Naturally, Shaikh has the requisite credentials, with over ’18 years of marketing and management experience in the networking industry’.
He previously served as VP of Platform Marketing and Business Development for Riverbed Technology, responsible for leading their portfolio marketing and technology alliance organisations.
Before that, Shaikh held several executive and leadership roles, including at HP (Networking division), Cisco, and BayNetworks/Nortel, where he helped successfully build and grow multi-billion dollar networking businesses in technology domains including wireless LAN (WLAN), switching, routing, security and SDN products.
Sounds like he shook things up a bit in his past, too!
Shaikh’s new boss, Rabinovitsj, said: “Kash’s proven ability to develop and implement successful go-to-market strategies in new and existing market segments and verticals aligns perfectly with our vision for growth in the industries we serve and the geographies we are conquering.
