Monoova appoints Tyson Hackwood as Head of Growth

Sydney-based payments provider Monoova has appointed former Braintree executive Tyson Hackwood as Head of Growth as part of its move to support the firm’s expanding capabilities in the Australian payments market.

Hackwood joins Monoova from Braintree, a PayPal service, where he was the Head of Asia Pacific based in Singapore.

Hackwood has over 15 years’ experience in the payments and technology sector, and has held senior positions with global payments provider PayPal and Vodafone.

At Monoova, Hackwood will be responsible for promoting the adoption of new, automated payment technologies to support the scalability of Australian companies. Monoova’s existing client base includes Supay, DiviPay, ManagedAPP and ASX-listed firm Splitit.

Monoova CEO, Christian Westerlind Wigstrom, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tyson to the Monoova team. The depth of his experience, both domestically and internationally, will add further energy to the momentum we have been building in the last few months.”

He said since launch, Monoova has processed transactions to a total value of approximately $2 billion, with strong growth of 42% experienced in the December quarter of 2019.
Commenting on his appointment, Hackwood said he was excited to be joining Monoova “at such a pivotal time”.
