IT veteran Tam Vu joins GBST board

Australian-listed global IT services provider to the financial services sector, GBST Holdings, has appointed 25-year industry veteran Tam Vu as an independent non-executive director.

Vu, currently the managing director of Vitae Partners, has had a career in leading technology change, innovation and entrepreneurship, working extensively in Australia, Asia Pacific, Europe and the US.

He has held numerous leadership roles at IBM Consulting Group, BP Australia and BP UK, Mars and SEEK, and his appointment at GBST (ASX:GBT) will take effect on 1 January.

Vu was formerly the chief information officer at SEEK where he led a large transformation program and, prior to this, was the global chief information officer for BP’s retail business.

Vu has provided advisory services to a number of start-up businesses in Australia, and is currently the managing director of Vitae Partners and a member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Chair of GBST, Allan Brackin said: “Tam will be a valuable addition to the board with his extensive experience in the technology sector. His appointment continues to demonstrate the board’s structured approach to its renewal strategy and succession planning.”

Vu will also serve as chair of the GBST’S board technology committee.
