Application Performance Infrastructure provider Riverbed Technology has appointed Intel former managing director, Keith Buckley as Regional Vice President, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

Buckley, who was Intel managing director for three years, succeeds Ian Raper, who has been appointed to the new role of Vice President of Solutions for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

Bjorn Engelhardt, Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan, Riverbed said Buckley brings to the role more than 18 years’ experience. Prior to Intel, Buckley held senior leadership positions at EMC, Symantec and Dell.

Engelhardt said Buckley will lead the region’s sales team and drive strategic operations, planning and the growth of Riverbed’s business in ANZ.

“Keith is an industry stalwart and is the ideal candidate to lead the Australian and New Zealand business at a time of rapidly evolving, highly complex and hybrid IT environments.

“His passion and leadership as a business manager will be invaluable as more companies turn to us to help them transform application performance into a competitive advantage.”

Ian Raper, who led Riverbed’s ANZ business for more than five years has been a part of Riverbed since 2008.

Engelhardt said in his new role, Raper will focus on solution selling to strategic accounts and aligning the Riverbed partner ecosystem to support this transition as Riverbed continues its transformation to an end-to-end application performance platform provider. He will have a particular focus on supporting the company’s growth and expansion in India, China and Japan.
